If We Were Turtles
If We Were Turtles is an Indie band from El Paso, TX formed in late 2011.
Their sound can be described as a mixture of ambient yet powerful guitar melodies, distinct bass lines that can carry a mood of their own and still adapt to the sound as a whole, drums with dynamic beats, and rare but interesting vocal melodies that can be appealing to diverse audiences. Their influences range from Radiohead, Rush, The Pixies and modern bands such as From Indian Lakes, Circa Survive, As Tall As Lions, Death Cab for Cutie, Avindale, As I Watch You From Afar, TTNG, Two Door Cinema Club and Minus The Bear.
The band released the single "I'll Find France Another Day" February 5th, 2016, which will be followed by a 4 song EP (March 2016 release) recorded with engineer/producer Danny River (Viva Las Vegas, Via Mars) and A full length Album set for release Summer 2016.
The considerable distance from other cities with a stable or even growing music scene has not put a halt to the band, it instead has motivated them to work even harder and get their music heard.
